Give us a couple balls of yarn and we're happy. But what do you get for the knitter who has more yarn than they know what to do with? Last year I chatted with my friend Margaret about this very topic during the second episode of the Yarn Talk Podcast. Here are 7 of our picks for great gifts that knitters will love: β Flexiflips by Addi - Get Them HereβIf there is one thing that has literally changed the way I knit recently (besides Portuguese knitting), it's these little beauties. They're like double pointed needles but BETTER. The small cable allows the needle to bend, giving you much more flexibility when knitting small projects in the round. You also only need 3 needles at once instead of 4 or 5. If you knit hats or socks these are a MUST. Electric Fabric Shaver - Get It HereβWe all know we should wash our knit, but pilling can make your projects look old and worn as well. Luckily fabric shavers are easy to use and really affordable. Within a few minutes you can make a sweater look like you just finished knitting it! β Wool Wash by Soak - Get It HereβBlocking your knits is an essential part of the knitting process. But water alone is not the best way to get the most from your yarn. Using a wool wash, like these from Soak, acts like a conditioner for your fabric. It not only helps the fibers relax, it smells great too! Don't worry they have unscented versions too! β An Audible Membership - Get 1 FREE BookβSure it's great to knit while you're watching TV, but I LOVE to listen to books. I've been an Audible member for more than 10 years and enjoy having my hands free to knit while I listen. And listening to books has allowed me to get more reading done. I can do it while I'm at the gym, going on a walk, or doing chores around the house. It's the only way I've found to truly multitask. β Knitting Graph Paper - Get It HereβIf you took our Decoding Charts workshop a few months back, you know how useful graph paper can be. This paper is designed with squares that have a ratio similar to that of knit stitches. So you can chart out written instructions, or even play with your own designs. It's also great for creating colorwork patterns. β Blocking Matts - Get Them HereβYour knitting really isn't finished until you've blocked it. Even if you're making something that doesn't need to be a specific size, blocking just makes your knitting look BETTER. Matts like these allow you to block different sizes and have more control when working with lace and ribbing. β Prym Ergonomics Knitting Needles - Get It HereβThese are some of the more unique knitting needles I've seen in years. They have a tear drop tip to make it easier to maneuver into stitches, lightweight plastic that's flexible but strong, and triangular shafts which are more comfortable to hold. I own a few pairs and find knitting with them incredibly comfortable, so if you want to gift something your knitter hasn't tried, this is for you. β So there you have it... We actually talked about these ideas and more in greater detail during the podcast. So if you haven't watched or listened before I encourage you to check it out! βListen to the podcastβ 12 Days of KnitmasChristmas Knitting BundleSave 80% off the regular price Jumpstart your Christmas knitting with this collection of 7 classes and 21 patterns. β Daily StitchHow to Crochet a ButtonOk so it's not a knitting tutorial. But hear me out... In today's pattern pick you'll need to make bobbles separately and add them to the project afterwards. This is an easier way of doing the same thing, just with a crochet hook.
